We are passionate and committed to providing the children at Churwell with outstanding learning opportunities.
Our aim is to enrich every child’s school experience and create an environment where they can learn, aspire and achieve.
Cultural capital is about preparing children with the knowledge and skills for what comes next. We realise the exploration of new skills and experiences helps to nurture resilience, curiosity and creativity. Ultimately, this leads to the growth of new forms of cultural capital that makes a difference in individual mindsets and shapes the future.
The intent of our Churwell Cultural Capital Card is that it offers enrichment experiences and opportunities with additional curriculum initiatives to help our children experience the awe and wonder of the world in which they live. This is so important at Churwell because what children learn in their formative years with us will stay with them forever and supports their aspiration and achievement for the future.
Each phase; Early Years, KS1 and KS2 have a Cultural Capital Card. The idea is that the children experience the different activities and learning experiences and tick them off on their card. This stays with them over the year group phases and the children can take the card home at the end of each phase.
