Local Review Board

Sarah is a long-serving member of the LRB at Churwell.

Ian is the Head of Information Security Business Support for an Enterprise business having worked previously as an Enterprise Security Architect in the same business and in Local Government. He has been a Co-opted Governor at Churwell Primary since 2020 and was previously the Co-chair of the Resources and Finance committee alongside other responsibilities. Ian is also an FA qualified coach at a local girl’s football team.  

Laura is a Detective Sergeant with over 20 years of policing experience in various roles, including her current role within Safeguarding where she leads a team of investigators with responsibility for investigating serious and complex crime.

In her spare time Laura is a registered chaperone, expanding upon her wealth of experience within safeguarding and looking out for the best interests of children during regulated activities. 

Laura is a parent governor on the LRB so also brings a parent voice to discussions.

Hayley is currently lead teacher of Mathematics at Cockburn Laurence Academy; she has been teaching for the Cockburn MAT for over 10 years. Hayley lives in Leeds and is ex pupil of Churwell Primary school. Hayley’s passion is teaching mathematics, particularly the transition from primary to secondary. She is currently working towards a National Professional Qualification (“NPQ”) in leading teaching.

Jo has worked at Churwell Primary Academy for 6 years, both in the school office and at After School Club, having previously worked in the finance industry for 29 years. 

Outside of work she is involved in scouting, as a Cub Scout Leader and Band Master of Spen Valle Scout & Guide Band.  She also helps at Cleckheaton Rugby Club, where her children play.

Claire is the Deputy Head at Churwell Primary Academy

Lucinda joined the local review board at Churwell Primary Academy several years ago, with governance responsibilities linked to SEN. She has enjoyed watching the school build and develop their provision to support and provide an inclusive environment where all pupils can thrive.

Having children that attended Churwell, Lucinda was keen to use her experience running a recruitment business, to provide a valuable contribution to the LRB, and assist the school in its continuous development.  Lucinda is hugely invested in supporting Churwell Primary Academy achieve its goals and continue to be a great place for learning. 

Anthony has been a co-opted LRB Member at Churwell Primary Academy since 2018, having lived in Churwell for 25 years. He has 2 children at Churwell Primary Academy, with his eldest attending Morley Academy.

Anthony works with the Independent Office for Police Conduct as an Investigator, having previously worked as a civil servant. Additionally, he volunteers as Race Director for the Morley 10K race.
