Churwell Primary School was awarded National Healthy Schools Status, this was led by Miss Walker and revalidation is for a further three years. The assesssor, Mr Steven Body, from Leeds City Council - Health and Well Being Team was full of praise for our school.
"The school has many strengths and the children are fantastic. Governors, staff and children's relationships are very strong and it is like being in a family."
He also went on to comment that the children felt "that there is something here for everyone."
Our thanks to all of the Churwell Primary School team for this amazing recognition of our good work. A special thank you to Miss Walker for her work over the year in helping revalidate our status.

As part of our Healthy Schools initiative some of our Year 6 children are Playleaders and help the children in KS1 play organised games at lunchtime.
These are some of the pictures in Summer from our garden in KS2. As you can see everything is now growing well from fruits of different types, to a range of vegetables. Items we produce can go to our school kitchen. We also use the garden as a teaching area.
