Eco Council
Our Eco Council is made up of a group of children from across Key Stage 2 who are meeting regularly with Mrs Hassell to look at ways of becoming environmentally friendly and bring about small changes within our school.
This is our Council:-

Cameron and Rebecca Karl and Georgia Lois and Elliot
William and Madeleine William and Amy Kayra and Jessica

Jack and Olivia Patrick and Holly
The elected members give up part of their lunchtime to attend meetings and have discussed issues like:-
- saving money by reducing electricity consumption. They are currently monitoring electric bills each month and trying to save money by running a "switch off when you can" campaign.
- paper wastage and recycling schemes.
- recycling items in the local area.
The Eco Team are holding a competition to see which class are the "energy angels" and which are the "energy hogs" by checking each class at lunchtime. 6AW won the angels award and have already received an extra playtime. Their message is - "do 3 things well"..........
1. switch off lights when they are not needed.
2. Turn out store room lights after use.
3. Lights and whiteboards can be turned off when rooms are not in use for PE or ICT.
They are also organising a collection of unwanted clothes for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance recycling scheme and collecting stamps for some other charities.
